  5. To install programs from the CD to your hard disk change to the
  6. CD drive and invoke

  8. 1. under DOS INSTALL.EXE (you need min. 480 kB free memory)
  9. 2. under WINDOWS SETUP.EXE

  11. You are stocked by the program. Please follow the statements during the

  37. To 1sts "MB for AutoCAD"
  38.  
  39. MB for AutoCAD is a design environment for using the MB Building Kit System 
  40. within the AutoCAD system. The program allows the user to design constructions
  41. quickly and flexibly from the components of the MB Building Kit System and to 
  42. prepare the relevant parts lists. Integrated into the AutoCAD CAD system, the 
  43. program can be called up and exited by key stroke using the familiar menu. 
  44. It is not necessary to change the tablet menu. The self explanatory graphical 
  45. user interface, window technology and pop-up menus ensure easy handling and 
  46. steep learning curves.

  48. > 2D Parts Library
  49. The designer can access 2D geometries of the components in the MB Building Kit 
  50. System.
  51. > MB Data Base
  52. In addition to component-related information services, default values and 
  53. check mechanisms are provided to simplify the work process and reduce sources 
  54. of error.
  55. > Module alternatives
  56. To simplify the design process, specific individual components have been 
  57. combined into modules. These modules can be integrated into the design by 
  58. entering a minimum of parameters. The relevant parts-list information is 
  59. updated automatically.
  60. > Parts list (semi-automatic)
  61. The generated graphic contains both geometry data and all the information 
  62. required for generating the parts list.
  63. item components selected by the user can be compiled into a parts list. 
  64. Consecutive numbering of the various parts is performed automatically. These 
  65. numbers can be transferred to the drawing or incorporated into the MB 
  66. Catalogue/Product Master Guide program. Here the parts list can be edited and 
  67. printed out for the ordering process.
  68. > 3D Parts Library
  69. This module allows the user to access the 3D geometries of components in the 
  70. MB Building Kit System and to integrate these into his design drawing.
  71. The components can be positioned in a 3D environment without lengthy coor-
  72. dinate specifications/calculations: Generating a 3D construction with this 
  73. function is as simple as the assembly work itself.
  74. > Parts list (fully automatic)
  75. All 3D components are integrated fully automatically into the parts list which 
  76. can be integrated into the drawing or the MB Catalogue/Product Master Guide 
  77. program.
  78. > MB Product Master Guide
  79. This program allows the user to search for information on components of the 
  80. MB Building Kit System and to draw up parts lists and/or order lists.

  83. Networking is possible, as are user-specific adaptations.

  91. The MB Product Master Guide facilitates the search for information on
  92. components in the MB Building Kit System and the preparation of parts lists 
  93. and/or order lists.
  94. The data are also available in ASCII, EBCDIC and EXCEL format for exporting 
  95. the MB Article Data to other programs.

  98. To 3rds "MB CAD Parts Library"
  99. ------------------------------
  100. The MB  CAD Parts Library allows the user to export the 2D and 3D geometries 
  101. of components in the MB Building Kit System to other CAD systems. Data are 
  102. made available in DWG, DXF and IGES format for this purpose.

  106. II. Installation notes

  110. To 1sts "MB for AutoCAD"
  111. ------------------------

  113. The program can be copied to your hard disk completely (you need approx.
  114. 85 MBytes free space on HD) or partially (you need only 1 MByte free space)
  115. where all needed program files will be loaded from CD during runtime.
  116.  
  117. Now you can use the application with AutoCAD
  118. --------------------------------------------
  119. To start "MB for AutoCAD" under WINDOWS or DOS use the command "MENU" and 
  120. choose the menu file
  121. e.g.     C:\EAITEM\DEUTSCH\MENUE\EAITEM.MNU 
  122. The system is initialized, so you can do first steps.

  124. Invoking of MB for AutoCAD automatically from the main menu
  125. -----------------------------------------------------------
  126. Invoking MB for AutoCAD from the main menu: Enter the following line in the 
  127. desired main menu area (e.g. ACAD.MNU) (e.g.***BUTTON and/or ***TABLET if 
  128. using a digitizer ***SCREEN and/or ***POPx if using a mouse):

  137. Do you have any problems with starting the program please do the following

  140. 1. If the program start is not correct

  142. Check the file EAITEM.INI. This file normally is written during installation.
  143.  
  144. With AutoCAD 12 the file is in the main directory
  145. e.g.: C:\ACADWIN oder C:\ACAD.
  146. With AutoCAD 13 or 14 the file is in the directory
  147. e.g.: C:\EAITEM\ENGLISH\MENU.
  148. Is that file not present please create it with the following contents

  206. - The line MAINMENU= contains the name of your main application menu file.
  207. Normally this is the AutoCAD menu file so you can leave ACAD as it is.
  208. - To the lines MENUx= you can add menu groups. They will be loaded
  209. automatically by starting the item application
  210. (e.g. MENU0=MENU0=D:\R13\win\support\rtpanzm ).
  211. - At the line TABMENUx= you can add tablet parts of your application
  212. (e.g. TABMENU1=ACAD.TABLET1STD ).

  214. Instead of X: insert your CD-drive letter
  215. C:\EAITEM is the path where your installation path was.

  218. 2. If parts list program is not running.
  219. ----------------------------------------

  221. Please check if in a directory of AutoCAD ( e.g. C:\R13\DOS\SUPPORT or 
  222. C:\R13\COM\SUPPORT ) the file ACAD.PGP exists with the following line:

  226. Does this line not exist please insert the above.

  229. Hints to GENIUS 13
  230. --------------------
  231. Using the application GENIUS 13 please mention the following to invoke
  232. our application from within the GENIUS appliocation

  234. Change to the directory C:\GENIUS\GEN\MNU\ACAD.
  235. You will find a file called ACADWIN.MNU and ACADDOS.MNU. This file edit like
  236.

  286. To read or print this file start your WINDOWS, change to the CD and there to
  287. directory

  289. and invoke the program ACROREAD. After installation of ACROREAD you can open 
  290. the above mentioned file MANUAL.PDF.

  293. To 2nds "MB Product Master Guide"

  295. Copy this program to your HD.
  296. You can invoke ITEMKAT.EXE (DOS), ITEMKW31.EXE (WIN 3.x) or 
  297. ITEMKW95 (WIN '95 / NT) within the directory 
  298.     C:\EAITEM\CATALOG
  299. It's an easy to use program. You get help and instructions with the F1 key.
  300.  
  301. A file ARTIKEL.ASC  with ASCII format,
  302. a file ARTIKEL.EBC  with EBCDIC format and
  303. a file ARTIKEL.TXT  with EXCEL is copied with all informations of item 
  304. elements for your own programs.
  305.  
  306. Do you want to edit the ARTIKEL.TXT file with EXECEL please mention the 
  307. following:
  308. 1. Open the file by selecting the "Datatyp" to "Seperated" with TAB and in
  309.    the combobox "file source" "DOS or OS/2 (PC-8)".
  310. 2. Edit the data as you like.
  311. 3. Save the data with the option "Save as..." as file type 
  312.    "Text (OS/2 or MSDOS)(*.txt)".

  314. To have these data in the item parts list program please invoke 
  315. ITEMKAT.EXE (DOS), ITEMKW31.EXE (WIN 3.x) or ITEMKW95.EXE and select
  316. menu option "Config/Update" and update the data.

  321. Let the desired data be installed on your hard disk, please. On the other hand
  322. you can copy only that files to your hard disk which you need.
